Things You Can’t Do Or Bring into Dubai

I’m one of those people who do extensive research before visiting a country. I love learning about different cultures and I respect the cultures of places I visit. I don’t believe in committing public protests in foreign nations because I do not want to end up on Locked Up Abroad. I’m much too cute and have too many dietary restrains. So, if you’re like me, keep these things in mind before heading to Dubai.

  1. Do not bring vibrators or sex toys into the country.
  2. Don’t be publicly drunk.
  3. Do not be open about being queer.
  4. Do not buy or bring drugs (including marijuana, cbd oil, codeine, morphine, etc) into the country.
  5. Don’t use foul language in public or online. You can go to jail for cursing someone out on a social media post.
  6. Do not disrespect or mock the royal family.
  7. Do not disrespect or mock Islam or modesty.
  8. Do not use your left hand to greet someone. In some cultures, the left hand is used to clean oneself after using the bathroom.
  9. Do not participate in lots of PDA in public.
  10. Do not eat in public during Ramadan, unless you are a place for tourists.
  11. Do not touch people you don’t know. In the Muslim community, some women and men do not believe in shaking hands with the opposite sex so don’t be offended if someone ignores your handshake.
  12. Do not argue or touch police officers or government employees (or anyone honestly)
  13. Do not show a lot of cleavage or wear short clothes. You may not go to jail for certain outfits, but you may get some annoyed looks or propositions.
  14. Do leave all the stereotypes behind and get ready to visit one of the most funniest places in the world.
